JLL Promotes Gentry to Oversee Leasing Advisory in New York Region
JLL has announced the promotion of Angela Gentry to the role of vice chairman of leasing advisory for the New York tri-state region. Having joined the firm in 2022, Gentry previously served as executive managing director of sales and platform, a position created specifically to support the company’s brokerage operations in the area. In her new capacity, she is tasked with scaling successful strategies developed in the New York City market to a national level.
JLL’s operations in New York have recently been marked by several significant transactions. The firm facilitated the sale of a development site in Downtown Brooklyn for $58 million, as well as the $31 million sale of a shopping center in Midwood, Brooklyn. Additionally, the brokerage has been active on the leasing front, capitalizing on demand from artificial intelligence firms. Notable deals include a 98,420-square-foot lease for Legora at SL Green Realty’s 11 Madison Avenue and a 13,754-square-foot lease for Genius AI at ZG Capital Partners’ 838 Broadway.
Gentry described her initial tenure at JLL as an effort to build a team supporting brokers during the pitch and proposal process. She noted that her evolving role focuses on aligning the firm around client relationships earlier in the sales cycle, aiming to benefit both JLL and its clients in leasing and sales scenarios.
