CBRE Global Real Estate Income Fund to Implement 1-for-3 Reverse Split
CBRE Global Real Estate Income Fund to Implement 1-for-3 Reverse Split
The CBRE Group, Inc. Global Real Estate Income Fund (NYSE: IGR) has secured shareholder approval to move forward with a 1-for-3 reverse stock split. The fund’s board of directors authorized the corporate action to ensure continued compliance with NYSE listing standards.
Under the terms of the reverse split, every three shares of the fund currently issued and outstanding will be consolidated into a single share. This adjustment will proportionally reduce the total number of shares outstanding while increasing the per-share price. The reverse split is expected to take effect at the close of business on a specific date to be determined by the board.
Concurrent with the reverse stock split, the fund will adjust its monthly distribution rate. While the total aggregate distribution amount relative to the fund’s earnings will remain consistent, the per-share payout will be recalibrated to reflect the reduced share count. Shareholders will receive details regarding the specific distribution amount in forthcoming notices.
CBRE Group, Inc., the fund’s advisor, currently trades with a market capitalization of approximately $44.04 billion. Parent company CBRE Group operates as a commercial real estate services and investment firm, providing advisory services, building operations, and project management across the United States, the United Kingdom, and international markets. Shares of CBRE Group were down 0.13% in recent trading, with a price of $151.74.
Reverse stock splits are often utilized by closed-end funds and other publicly traded entities to boost per-share prices to meet minimum bid requirements set by stock exchanges. This structural change does not inherently alter the fundamental value or net asset value of the fund.
