Industrious to Open Glendale Coworking Site at Caruso’s Restored Masonic Temple

Flexible workspace operator Industrious is deepening its Southern California footprint with a new Glendale location, its first deal with developer Caruso.

The company has leased 12,000 square feet spanning two floors of the historic Masonic Temple at 234 South Brand Boulevard in Glendale. The site is slated to open in late June 2027, marking Industrious’ second Glendale outpost and its 19th across Greater Los Angeles.

The planned workspace will offer 101 private office seats plus 17 seats in common areas.

“Glendale has proven itself as a strong market for us, and we’re excited to build on that success with this new location,” said Natalie Levine, director of real estate at Industrious, in a statement.

The nine-story Art Deco temple dates to 1929. Rick Caruso’s firm repositioned the building into Class A office and retail space next to its Americana at Brand shopping complex. CBRE Group, which bought Industrious last year and whose shares traded at $142.26 recently, down 1.52% from the prior close of $144.46, anchors the property as its North Los Angeles headquarters. CBRE carries a market capitalization of roughly $43.7 billion.

Jackie Levy, Caruso’s chief revenue officer, said the flexible workplace adds to the Americana at Brand “live-work-play ecosystem” within the walkable destination.

The Glendale signing continues a busy stretch for Industrious in the region. Earlier this year the operator opened an 18,400-square-foot site at Douglas Emmett’s Studio Plaza in Burbank and signed a 22,000-square-foot lease at Sherman Oaks Galleria. Its recent Westside expansion includes a 16,000-square-foot Beverly Hills location, about 44,000 combined square feet in Westwood and Santa Monica, and 19,000 square feet at Watt Plaza in Century City.

Globally, Industrious runs more than 250 locations in over 80 cities.
