Uppababy to Shift Its Brooklyn Store to 156 Montague Street in Brooklyn Heights Next Year
High-end baby gear maker Uppababy is moving its Brooklyn retail and service hub from Cobble Hill to a new 3,780-square-foot space at 156 Montague Street in Brooklyn Heights, according to brokerage details confirmed by JLL. The relocation is expected to take place next year, with the company leaving its 90 Smith Street location, which it opened around 2019.
JLL — Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated — represented both sides of the deal. Jesse Wolff and Elijah Mehl advised the tenant, while colleagues Ryan Condren and George Danut acted for landlord Owen Realty, which holds the property through Montague Realty Development Associates. Neither the lease term nor the asking rent was disclosed. For context, REBNY’s latest Brooklyn retail report put the average asking rent on nearby Fulton Street at $190 per square foot in 2025.
Uppababy, which produces strollers, car seats, highchairs and other infant products, positions its “hub” stores as destinations for hands-on product demonstrations and personalized service. Its flagship Vista V3 stroller — billed as a best seller on the company’s website — carries a $1,000 price tag.
“Brooklyn is an important market for Uppababy, and this relocation allows us to build on the relationships we have developed with local families,” co-founder and CEO Bob Monahan said in a statement, noting that Brooklyn Heights has “a strong community of young and growing families.”
Wolff pointed to the corridor’s fundamentals: “Montague Street offers the neighborhood density, visibility and accessibility that work well for family focused retailers like Uppababy.” Owen Realty did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
JLL shares traded at $333.56 recently, up 0.73% from the prior close of $331.14, giving the real estate services firm a market capitalization of roughly $15.8 billion. The brokerage remains active across retail leasing assignments throughout the New York metro area.
The move underscores continued demand for storefront space along Brooklyn Heights’ main retail corridor, where family-oriented brands have sought locations near a dense residential base.
