Compass expands agent benefits with health and retirement support

Compass International Holdings has rolled out new healthcare and retirement planning concierge services for more than 250,000 affiliated real estate professionals across its U.S. franchise brands, the company announced Tuesday.
Independent real estate professionals affiliated with @properties, Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate, Century 21, Christie’s International Real Estate, Coldwell Banker, Compass, Corcoran, ERA and Sotheby’s International Realty will gain access to health coverage navigation, medical billing support and retirement plan setup at preferred pricing, according to the announcement.
The offerings are aimed at independent contractors, who typically lack access to employer-sponsored health insurance and retirement plans and must navigate Affordable Care Act marketplaces and individual advisory relationships on their own. For broker-owners and team leaders, benefits access has become a key recruiting and retention issue in a slower housing market with compressed margins.
Participating agents will have year-round access at no cost to healthcare and retirement planning experts who can provide guidance 365 days a year. Support includes comparing coverage options, estimating plan costs, finding in-network providers and reviewing retirement savings choices.
Healthcare navigation and support
Through Stride, agents can compare health, dental and vision plans, identify available tax credits and get help from a licensed advisor to estimate plan costs and enroll. Stride reports that customers who qualify for tax credits save an average of $615 per month on coverage.
TouchCare will provide dedicated Health Assistants to help agents and their families navigate the health system throughout the year. Services include finding in-network doctors and specialists, understanding costs before receiving care, exploring prescription savings and disputing or correcting inaccurate medical bills, according to the announcement.
Retirement planning options
On the retirement side, Compass International is partnering with Morgan Stanley, with plans powered by Vestwell, to offer Solo(k) and team 401(k) plans that real estate professionals and teams can elect to establish. The program features professionally managed retirement solutions with zero setup fees, preferred pricing and dedicated support. The company said the offering can save agents up to $850 in their first year.
Independent contractors in real estate have historically been responsible for setting up their own IRAs or solo 401(k)s, often without institutional pricing or plan design support. Formal programs from brokerages and holding companies could help normalize retirement saving behavior in an industry where income is volatile and many agents remain active later in life
“One of the top requests I hear from our real estate professionals is better support and access for healthcare and retirement,” Robert Reffkin, chairman and CEO of Compass International Holdings, said in the announcement. “These offerings are about helping our real estate professionals navigate and maximize their options so they can spend more time focused on building their future, helping their clients, and spending time with their families.”
The company said the benefits program is available to all U.S.-based real estate professionals affiliated with its participating brands and that it expects to expand offerings in 2027. Compass International plans to explore additional options such as life and disability coverage, more retirement savings choices and exclusive vendor discounts on goods, services and technology used in agents’ professional and personal lives.
Reffkin said Compass International’s long-term goal is to give members of its network access to “higher-quality, lower-cost healthcare and retirement planning options” tailored to the way independent real estate professionals work.
